Cardamom Hills Trading Co: Kitchen Production Assistant

Excellent entry-level, Part-Time position.  Great opportunity for an energetic student with a passion for the food and culinary industry or others looking for some flexible part-time income.

Cardamom Hills Trading Co is a growing business that produces small-batch preserves using locally sourced ingredients.  We are looking for a motivated individual to assist with production needs based out of our commercial kitchen located in outer SE Portland. 
 
Job Status:  Part-time.  16 – 20 hours per week.
Compensation:  $14 per hour or DOE
Duties include, but may not be limited to: 

• Using a digital scale, careful measurement of all ingredients
• Peeling and chopping fruits and vegetables
• Hot filling jars
• Monitoring pH levels and recording temperatures
• Labeling jars
• Cleaning up
• Washing equipment/pots/pans

Qualifications:

• Current Multnomah Food Handler’s Card
• Good knife skills (essential)
• Work in a clean and organized manner
• Demonstrate attention to details
• Ability to complete tasks in a timely fashion
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally
• Ability to follow directions
• Knowledgeable of food safety practices
• Good oral communications and ability to read and understand instructions in English
