What you will do:
The Food Manufacturing Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the cheese department at the Boardman plant for efficient operations.  Responsibilities include supervising Data Analyst, Technical Manager, Cheese Make, & Food Manufacturing Supervisors in the cheese department.  Duties will also include assisting in managing the department, including payroll, scheduling, GMPs, SOP’s, safety, sanitation and operation of equipment and troubleshooting and solving problems with processing equipment, issue work orders.

Here’s a day in the life
  • Oversee the production of cheese at Tillamook through the product being boxed while maximizing yields and maintaining a cost efficient operation
 
  • Ensure all standard operating procedures (SOPs) are followed
 
  • Assign and track work orders
 
  • Communicate production goals to the crew
 
  • Review daily production data and maintain priority balance; organize and prepare efficiency summaries
 
  • Ensures that proper techniques are used for sanitation of production equipment
 
  • Reports all exceptions to product or ingredient quality as appropriate based on the seriousness/urgency of the situation
 
  • Work with operators to troubleshoot and resolve equipment problems and other production issues
 
  • Implement plans to correct any problems that are identified, determine where and why the problem occurred, and oversee specific corrective action
 
  • Utilize labor and packaging supplies in the most cost effective manner possible to control costs
 
  • Oversee 6S initiative
 
  • Manage the day-to-day performance of cheese operators to ensure they are following proper procedures
 
  • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are known and followed
 
  • Champions department’s World Class Manufacturing (WCM) initiatives
 
  • Ensure that employees are trained and cross-trained in a fair and efficient manner
 
  • Address performance issues in a timely, consistent, and confidential manner
 
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to enhance individual and team performance
 
  • Build teamwork by treating people with respect and encouraging cooperation, involvement, and information sharing
 
  • Ensure compliance with USDA, OSDA, FDA, and other regulatory product safety requirements
 
  • Monitor use of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
 
  • Establish manufacturing quality control point testing and measures
 
  • Implement plans to correct any problems that are identified, determine where and why the problem occurred, and oversee specific corrective action
 
  • Review the previous day’s production and laboratory reports of cheese analysis
 
  • Establish effective working relationship with Quality Assurance
 
  • Work with the maintenance department to plan and schedule repairs and preventative maintenance
 
  • Establish effective working relationship with maintenance engineering
 
  • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
 
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public
 
  • Communicate effectively
 
  • Act as a team player and be able to interact with staff at all levels of the company
 
  • Work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple projects simultaneously
 
  • Demonstrate excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision

 
Skills you’ll need:                                                                 
EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED required.  A Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
EXPERIENCE: 5 years of progressively responsible experience managing a manufacturing operation with supervisor experience. Experience supervising a unionized facility is a plus.
OTHER: Weekend and off-shift work is required. Duties may include repetitive motion of hands and lifting up to 45 pounds.Industry leading benefit and reward programs:

POSITION TITLE: Supply Chain Specialist

LOCATION: Vancouver, WA
 

COMPANY:

GrainCorp Malt is one of the world’s largest producers of malt for use in the brewing, distilling and food industries, operating in the U.S. as Great Western Malting Co., and in Canada as Canada Malting Co.  The Country Malt Group division began in 1995 as North Country Malt Supply based in Champlain, NY.  In 2010 the company was acquired by GrainCorp and has evolved into the Country Malt Group with 12 distribution facilities located throughout North America. Today we are the main supplier to over 5,000 customers in the US and Canada.

POSITION SCOPE:

Reporting to the Director of Procurement, you will be a member of a small, close-knit team of professionals where success hinges on active involvement with, and commitment to your team. This team is tightly integrated into the fabric of the organization and supports a network of distribution centers spread across the U.S. and Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for managing the End-to-End Supply of products, from demand planning to product replenishment.
Demand Planning – maintain demand forecasts via consensus approach, in collaboration with other departments in the organization.
Replenishment - develop and execute a supply plan from vendors that supports the demand forecast.
Inventory Optimization – maintain optimal inventory levels at CMG’s multiple distribution centers via Multi-Echelon Inventory Optimization (MEIO) planning.
Purchasing – creating, submitting, and following up on vendor Purchase Orders in our ERP system, and work on expediting when necessary. Own and lead the Collaborative, Planning, Forecasting, and Replenishment (CPFR) process to proactively identify improvement opportunities within the Supply Chain. Analyze complex sales and inventory data; drawing logical and meaningful conclusions, generating reports and detailed action plans.  

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
A minimum of 3 years full-time experience in demand planning, sourcing, purchasing and vendor management. Must have experience working with an ERP software and knowledge of Demand Forecasting software. High proficiency in MS Excel is required as well as having a solid working knowledge of other Microsoft Office suite programs. Have a critical thinking mindset and be able to analyze information objectively and make a reasoned judgment. Must be able to communicate ideas and messages clearly and concisely among different levels and departments within the organization. Able to work collaboratively and cross functionally, as well as individually as the role requires. Knowledge of the craft brewing, and malting industries are a plus.  

EDUCATION: Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Logistics or Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.
