Greetings Oregon Section IFT Members!
Do you feel a hankering for some hot chocolate? Are you remembering to bring your jacket when you leave the house? Do chestnuts over an open fire sound amazing? Leaves crunching under your toes? That's because it's officially Fall everyone, with all the energy (and hectic craziness) that it brings.
I have an idea - let's take a break from our busy schedules, cozy up indoors, and drink some wine next week! Sounds good? If so, please join us at our meeting on Tuesday, October 8th (that's NEXT WEEK!) at Eola Hills Winery in Rickreall. Our speaker will be Joseph Bailey, an expert on organizational strategy who has worked with over 50 organizations to achieve their goals and to overcome barriers to success. He has worked with food companies local to Oregon with strategic planning and team building, and has 30 years of experience in training, consulting, facilitation and coaching.
It's also time to congratulate our 2013 OSIFT scholarship winners. These students have been working hard to balance school, extracurricular activities, getting involved with OSIFT on a local level, and IFT on a national level. Wow, I am tired just thinking about it... These students are our future food industry leaders, and we are proud of them.
For all you newcomers, our meetings kick off with a social hour at 5:30, followed by dinner at 6:30, announcements, and then our speaker. We will award scholarships after our speaker.
