Happy Holidays Oregon Section IFT Members!
Family gatherings, hot chocolate, warm mittens, and mistletoe! These are just a few of my favorite things. Yes, we are getting deep into the holiday season, folks, and the Oregon Section is excited to spread some holiday cheer at our next meeting on Tuesday, December 10th.
The holidays are a time for giving to those in need. The Oregon Section will be collecting donations for the Oregon Food Bank at our registration table during the meeting. For every 2 items you donate, you will receive a raffle ticket! Please bring food that DOES NOT require refrigeration.
Our speaker will be Camas Davis from The Portland Meat Collective (http://www.pdxmeat.com/). The Portland Meat Collective brings local meat to local people. It’s a network of Portland citizens who are looking for a cost-effective way to buy meat directly from Oregon’s small ranchers and farmers. The PMC not only helps consumers procure whole steers, pigs, or lambs directly from small Oregon farms - they also provide butchery and charcuterie classes. We're excited to hear all about this great organization and learn more about local meat!
At the end of the evening, we will host our annual Holiday Raffle. If you bring a raffle prize, you will receive an extra raffle ticket! It’s a win win!
Registration is open and you can sign up using the following Eventbrite link: http://osiftdec2013.eventbrite.com. OSIFT members should also receive an email directly from Eventbrite later today. The deadline to grab a seat is Thursday, December 5th at 2pm.
For all you newcomers, our meetings kick off with a social hour at 5:30, followed by dinner at 6:30, announcements, and then our speaker.
We’ll be there with bells on!
