I hope you are all enjoying your Thanksgiving weekend and wowing your friends and family with scientific facts about brining, safe minimum poultry cook temperatures and the best pumpkin pie crust.
We had a great showing for our Day of Service, and packed oats at the Oregon Food Bank. Each volunteer was responsible for packing 138 meals. Check out the photos on our Facebook page!
If you’ve already downed your last leftovers and picked the perfect Christmas tree or hung your mistletoe, then you’re ready for our OSIFT Holiday Meeting!
We will continue to support the Oregon Food Bank with our annual raffle. Please remember to bring your raffle items, and also some cans of food or a donation to trade for raffle tickets.
It is scheduled for 5:30 PM, December 9th at the Quality Inn and Suites (formerly known as the Renaissance Inn) at 5188 Wittenberg Lane NE, Keizer, OR, US, 97303.
Sake...what is it anyway?
Our speaker, Marcus Pakiser has been in the Sake Industry for over 22 years. Marcus has brewed sake in the US and Japan. He is currently the Regional Director of Sake for Young's Market Company, a large Alcohol Distribution company the the Western United States.
Marcus has done thousands of Sake seminars around North America and is passionate about Sake.
He has appeared in publications such as USA Today, Wine Spectator, Portland Monthly, The Oregonian, NHK Japan and Sunset Magazine.
Space is limited, so register soon, we have a sake tasting planned, and will need a final headcount by Thursday Dec. 4th.
