I know, it’s not officially fall just yet, and you’re probably busy packing for that big camping trip this weekend, but I just wanted to say, hello from the Oregon Section Executive Committee! While you were floating down the Sandy River this summer, our committee worked long and hard to plan our next year of OSIFT meetings and speakers. We are so excited to see you all again in September!
Please mark your calendars for our first meeting on Tuesday, September 10th at McMenamin’s Old Church in Wilsonville. Our speaker will be our very own Robin Frojen, who will tell us the sordid yet uplifting story of Oregon State University’s Beaver Classic Cheese. Sounds like a delicious topic! I hope she’ll bring samples…!
For all you newcomers, our meetings kick off with a social hour at 5:30, followed by dinner at 6:30, announcements, and then our speaker. We’re usually having so much fun that we lose track of time, but meetings typically end at 8:30 pm. Whether you’re brand new or a regular, we’re always jazzed to see you, so don’t be shy and bring your special slice of the Oregon food technology pie with you.
Registration is now open and you can sign up using the following Eventbrite link: http://osiftsept2013.eventbrite.com/. You should also receive an email directly from Eventbrite. The deadline to grab a seat is Friday September 6th at 12pm (noon), so sign up today!!!
Cheers to fall apples, spice, and everything nice!
