We're kicking off the 2026–27 OSIFT season with Troy Johnson, President & CEO of Hazelnut Growers of Oregon (HGO), and the story of an Oregon agricultural business entering an exciting new chapter.
In his talk, “Transforming Oregon Hazelnuts,” Troy will share the story of HGO, a longtime leader in Oregon's hazelnut industry that faced an uncertain future when its former parent company exited the hazelnut business. He'll discuss HGO's turnaround and its work in new product development, domestic and international markets, and developing new opportunities for Oregon hazelnuts. Join us at McMenamins Old Church for dinner, networking, and a great start to the new OSIFT season. Schedule:

GET INVOLVED WITH OSIFT THIS SEASON!
OSIFT is a volunteer-run organization, and as we kick off a new season, we're looking for more members who would like to get involved and help shape the organization going forward.
We currently have openings for Secretary, Director at Large, and Communications Chair. We're also forming several short-term, ad hoc committees to work on projects that came out of our summer planning meeting, including refining OSIFT's mission and vision and developing a clearer financial policy.
You don't need to take on a formal leadership role to get involved. If one of these positions or projects sounds interesting, reply to this email or come talk with us at the September meeting. We'd love to have you involved.
