QA Technician - Willamette Egg Farms

Quality Assurance Technician

General
  • Demonstrate knowledge of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) as it applies to plant operations (HACCP certification preferred). Knowledge of GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and how to apply them to a food production environment
  • Show initiative in reporting to Food Safety/Quality Manager any food safety violations or out of specification results. 
  • Knowledge of FSMA a plus
  • Strong skills in writing, mathematics, Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Demonstrate solid interpersonal and communication skills, team player
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to follow directions and work independently
  • Bachelor of Science (Food Science a bonus) or equivalent by working in a Food Quality position for at least 5 years. 
  • Ability to be flexible, work early hours
  • Ability to communicate effective in English both verbally and in writing.  Bilingual a plus but not required
Specific
  • Preoperational inspections of production and welfare areas to ensure cleanliness, report any findings and clean as needed.
  • Calibration of equipment
  • Collection of samples, management of sample results
  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
  • Monitoring of production areas for employee adherence to GMPs, condition of rooms and equipment
  • Receiving of incoming goods
  • Some Microbiology lab duties, including plating of samples
  • Read and interpret technical documents, specifications, standard operating procedures
  • Aid Food Safety/Quality Manager in special projects, audit preparation, participate in company website projects, fulfilling SQF requirements
  • Aid in investigation and documentation of Food Safety incidents effectively
  • Support production crew to ensure safe, timely production runs
  • Aid in training of new employees
  • Desire to work with a team of great people in a solid company dedicated to producing safe quality food.
