Oregon Fruit Products is seeking a QA Coordinator who thrives in a fast-paced, team environment and has the ability to provide exceptional service to our company.
The QA Coordinator is responsible for maintaining, as well as helping develop and facilitate changes to, key functions of OFP’s food safety and quality systems.  The QA Coordinator ultimately ensures all raw materials and processed products meet or exceed OFP, regulatory and customer standards.  The QA Coordinator demonstrates our commitment to food safety, quality and excellent customer service. 
Oregon Fruit Products manufactures and sells a wide variety of products made from Oregon Berries and many other types of fruits from the US and around the world. We capture the best part of Oregon’s summer fruits and berries picked at the peak of ripeness from as close as 10 miles from our doors. Our home in Oregon’s beautiful Willamette Valley is one of the best growing regions for favored specialty fruit. Customers from around the world have come to cherish the quality and flavor of Oregon Fruit Product's canned and frozen specialty products, and we look forward to having someone new join our passionate team!
 
JOB DUTIES (other duties as assigned):
  • Manages and maintains Corrective Action System.  Leads Corrective Action Team (CAT) team including CAT meetings to help investigate root causes and suggest corrective actions. Monitors and follows up on corrective actions to ensure successful implementation.
  • Manages and maintains Document Control System.
  • Manages and maintains Internal Audit System.  Functions as Lead Auditor.
  • Manages Approved Vendor Program.
  • Participates in and provides support for regulatory, BRC and customer audits.
  • Prepares reports and presents results to Management.
  • Maintains organized and efficient work flow and demonstrates high degree of accuracy.
  • Clear understanding of regulatory, BRC, FSMA and customer requirements concerning food safety and quality.
  • Provides technical support to Operations and Corporate.
  • Able to prioritize and complete on-going tasks assigned by QA Manager.
  • Able to fill in for QA technicians when necessary (including fresh fruit grader).
  • Creates, edits, revises and reviews specifications, procedures, instructions and forms in  collaboration with document users, or subject matter experts, as necessary; may shadow and interview personnel in work environment to create or revise documentation.
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology or other relevant field; or three to five years related experience and/or training in quality assurance role required.
  • Experience in food manufacturing, food service or agricultural product experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in writing and composition skills required, including use of proper grammar and logical/attractive spatial design of forms, reports, charts and flow diagrams.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
