Food Scientist in Houston, TX.

The hiring company is MEI Technologies, the job is with the Space Food Systems Laboratory, which is located on the campus of Johnson Space Center.  We are looking for someone with a B.S. in Food Science (or related degree) with 5 years’ experience in food production or quality assurance with some previous experience in freeze dried food production.  The basic job responsibilities include:
 

• Oversight of freeze dried food production at the Space Food Systems Laboratory, and participation in provisioning activities related to the ISS flight food system, including preparation of facility, food preparation, flight packaging, quality assurance testing, and container stowage.
• Participating in product development activities, sensory evaluation, literature research, preparation and review of  technical reports, presentations, and charts, as assigned. 
• Participation in outreach events, tours, and other activities scheduled by the Public Affairs and Education Offices, or requested by the NASA customer.
