Toby's is looking for a reliable Manager of Quality Assurance & Food Safety to ensure that all external and internal requirements are met before our product reaches our customers. You will be responsible for inspecting procedures and outputs and identifying mistakes or non-conformity issues. An excellent Quality Assurance Manager has eyes like a hawk and solid experience in quality control. The ideal candidate is a reliable and competent professional whose approval will be necessary for the continuation of a business life cycle. The goal is to assure the high quality of our operations and services aiming to the long-term success of our business.
Responsibilities
  • Devise and maintain procedures for inspecting and reporting quality issues. These procedures ensure HACCP, FISMA, and 3rd party certification plans are met.
  • Direct, manage, and participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for quality assurance, food safety and compliance.
  • Manage internal and external auditing of quality and safety systems.
  • Oversee the resolution of non-conforming areas.
  • Work with production personnel in a managerial role to assist them with quality issues within their departments.
  • Provide quality coaching to production employees.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve product quality problems by researching issues, analyzing data, and developing solutions.
  • Oversee analytical work done at each step of the manufacturing process to ensure quality control standards are met and maintained.
  • Conduct lab testing of food production batches.
  • Review and approve the purchase of lab supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure the preventative maintenance and repairs of lab equipment.
  • Supervise employees engaged in QA activities.
  • Maintain and manage the FDA SSOP programs and review daily documentation generated to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee plant sanitation and pest control programs.
  • Assure the reliability and consistency of production by checking processes and final output
  • Facilitate proactive solutions by collecting and analyzing quality data
  • Review current standards and policies
  • Keep records of quality reports, statistical reviews and relevant documentation
  • Ensure all legal standards are met
  • Communicate with external quality assurance officers during on-site inspections. These include GMP, HACCP, Orthodox Union, and Oregon Tilth among others.
Skills
  • Proven experience as a quality assurance manager or relevant role
  • Thorough knowledge of methodologies of quality assurance and standards
  • Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data analysis/statistical methods
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Great attention to detail and a results driven approach
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
  • Reliable and Trustworthy
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
